wondering when this football was made

At the time when Superbowl XXII was played in Jan. 1988, I read they made only 200 or so of these footballs, so just wondering why so many are still available here and on eBay for just $100. Is Wilson still making these now in 2013? If they are it's nice but they should say these are not 'original' 1988 footballs.
