Customer Reviews for Shock FX™ 2.0 Catcher's Helmet

Shock FX™ 2.0 Catcher's Helmet

Reduce the shock of impact on a catcher's head by up to 50% with the cutting-edge energy absorption materials and technology of the Wilson Shock FX Catcher's Mask. Featuring high tensile steel, maximum ventilation, a panoramic cage design and cooling helmet liners, its exclusive four-piston design technology features six vibration-reducing isolators that diffuse impact energy from a player's helmet in four key zones. By allowing the mask to "float" separately from the helmet itself, impact is absorbed to drastically reduce possible effects on a player's helmet and head.

My daughter is the varsity catcher on her high school fastpitch softball team and will not use another catchers helmet. this mask has a extra "lip" on the back that no other mask has and makes it possible to put the mask on with easily with one hand. only complaint is the padding does fall out after a while and has to be re-glued.

Has used this version for the last few years, he's 18 now (high school senior) and has not had any of the strap issues a couple of other people have mentioned? Plays 75+ games a year counting hs, summer and fall & only issue was central screw came unscrewed once but was simply re-screwed in with minimal effort. Great mask, would highly recommend!

The straps that hold the back of the head protector both needed to be replaced within the first season. Overall nice catcher's helmet and good value.

Purchased new, helmet design is great. Light weight and comfortable. One major drawback is in the design. The elastic straps that hold the back on have almost been cut in half from helmet dropping onto the ground. The sharp edge of the helmet has almost cut these straps in half after one game.

The Velcro strap on the back is not very strong. I have to reattach the strap every time I take the helmet off. My batting gloves have better Velcro than this helmet.
